A Prayer For The United States Of America

Heavenly Father,
As we come before You to pray for the healing and reunification of the United States of America, we humbly acknowledge the ways in which we have turned away from Your heart and from one another. Lord, we confess that our nation has been marked by division, pride, and selfish ambition. We have allowed bitterness and strife to take root in our hearts, and we have often sought our own interests rather than seeking Your will. We ask for Your forgiveness and Your mercy, for we know that without You, we cannot heal.

Your Word reminds us in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Father, we come to You now in humility, repenting of our sins and asking that You would heal this land. We pray that You would bring unity where there is division, peace where there is conflict, and love where there is hatred.

Lord, we ask that You soften hardened hearts and break down the walls that separate us—whether they be political, racial, cultural, or economic. Teach us to see one another as You see us: as Your children, created in Your image and loved beyond measure. Help us to extend grace, mercy, and understanding to our fellow citizens, and remind us that Your love has the power to overcome every division.

We lift up our leaders to You, asking that You grant them wisdom, discernment, and hearts that seek to serve rather than be served. Guide them to make decisions that reflect Your justice, righteousness, and compassion. We ask that You bring a spirit of cooperation and humility to our government, so that the needs of all people—especially the most vulnerable—may be met.

Father, we also pray for the Church in America. May Your people rise up to be ambassadors of peace and reconciliation in this time of turmoil. Let Your Church be a beacon of hope, love, and truth, drawing others to You by the way we love one another. Help us to be the hands and feet of Christ, serving our neighbors with humility and grace.

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the promises of healing and restoration that You offer us. As Psalm 147:3 reminds us, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Heal our land, Lord, and bind up the wounds of this nation. May we turn to You in faith and trust, knowing that You alone are the source of our peace, hope, and unity.

In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
